ABOUT SATURDAY TOWN

Saturday Town is the award winning photographic project celebrating youth style, fashion and self-expression.

Since 2013 Casey Orr has travelled the UK, photographing young people in towns and cities on Saturday afternoons, documenting changing society as seen through youth culture, fashion, tribes and identity.

The pop up portrait studio has worked with hundreds of young people, spanning a decade of major changes in culture and the ways we use our public spaces.

Multiple locations, exhibitions, partners and collaborations have culminated in a major retrospective solo exhibition at Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool, April/May 2024 as well as books and publications including Saturday Girl, Bluecoat Press 2020.

The project has expanded into an organisation with an educational offering, long term project spaces and embedded professional practice opportunities for young creatives.

Our small dedicated team have many years of experience as artists, designers, photographers and stylists  working at the top of our profession. We are also educators who have decades of experience within all levels of education. We are dedicated to supporting young people with the highest level of creative collaborations within an environment that is professional, challenging and supportive of risk taking.

Saturday Town is about the powerful, playful language of fashion and how changing culture can be read through portraiture, youth culture and fashion. The project co-creates a programme with outputs and opportunities for engagement across platforms and audiences.
